Audubon Comments on EPA Head Nomination

In response to President Obama’s nomination of Gina McCarthy to head the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Audubon Society issued the following statement:

“Gina McCarthy is whip-smart, tough-talking and tenacious. She is exactly the kind of leader the country needs to make historic progress on climate change solutions,” said Audubon Vice President for Government Relations Mike Daulton. “She has a rare and genuine ability to bring together diverse viewpoints to reach real solutions, something Washington desperately needs. She’s been a champion for Long Island Sound, grasslands and species conservation, clean and sustainable water resources, clean air, and dealing with climate change.  She helped spark a national movement with the 2006 launch of Connecticut’s No Child Left Inside initiative, connecting countless children and families to nature. We enthusiastically support her nomination.”
