Senior Communications Manager, Audubon Southwest

Erika Flores is the Senior Communications Manager for Audubon Southwest.

She joins Audubon Southwest after working with Maricopa County for seven and a half years.
 
Erika had various roles in Maricopa County including Elections Department’s Deputy Communications Director and spokesperson, appearing in local, national and international media. She also collaborated with more than 50 departments on communications strategies and advised executive leadership, launched Maricopa County’s social media platforms, content creation strategy and multicultural communications. 

Before working at Maricopa County, Erika had a 12-year career in journalism and currently owns a multicultural communications and consulting business. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Bachelor’s Degrees in Sociology, and Journalism and Mass Communication. She uses these skills to develop multicultural communications strategies that build relationships between organizations and their communities.

In her free time, Erika enjoys dancing bachata, watching Marvel movies, and exploring small towns with her husband and three dogs – Gizmo, Gadget, and Kiddo. 

Erika looks forward to leading communications for Audubon Southwest while keeping an eye out for her favorite bird: Colibrí de Anna – Anna’s Hummingbird.
