Guided Nature Walk | Leaves in Light: Printing Nature, Inspiring Care

Discover the forest through art in Leaves in Light, a hands-on workshop that blends cyanotype printing, plant identification, and conservation connection. Using sunlight and natural materials, participants create striking blue prints while exploring the shapes, patterns, and stories of plants found in the local landscape.

Guided by Center staff, participants engage in a slow, intentional walk to observe and identify common forest species, learning to recognize plants through form, texture, and habitat. They then gather fallen or abundant materials to compose their own cyanotype prints, using art as a way to interpret and reflect on the ecosystem around them.

Throughout the experience, art becomes a tool for deeper attention and understanding. By noticing more closely, participants build a stronger sense of connection to place and are invited to consider their role in caring for it. The program concludes with reflection and simple, accessible ways to support local conservation efforts.

No prior experience in art or plant identification is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to look closely.

Program Registration & Waitlist Policy

IMPORTANT: Please read the following carefully to ensure you are fully registered.

You are officially registered only if you receive a confirmation email from Mobilize stating your status as “Registered.” Shortly before the event, you will receive a notice to "Confirm" your registration.

If you are on the waitlist, you are not registered unless you receive a separate notification informing you that you have been moved from the waitlist to registered status.

If you have not received a “Registered” confirmation email at least 24 hours prior to the event, you did not secure a spot in the program. Please do not come by anticipating no-shows.

If you are registered, please continue to monitor your email for any last-minute updates. Unforeseen circumstances, including weather or other factors, may result in schedule changes or cancellations.
