Spend a few weekend hours helping Audubon help birds at the Rio Salado Audubon Center in South Phoenix. Work varies throughout the year and includes invasive plant removal, trail maintenance, seed collecting, planting, painting and trash pick-up. Volunteers gather for a short orientation at 9 a.m. and then work until 11 a.m. (or for as long as they like). Restrooms, water fountains and an indoor space to rest are adjacent the work site in our free-admission nature center. Habitat restoration day at the Rio Salado Audubon Center. Photo: Jenohn Wrieden
