Speaker Biography: Souta Calling Last, MIM, PCC is the Founder and Executive Director of Indigenous Vision, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through environmental stewardship, education, and cultural revitalization. As an environmental scientist and educator, she focuses on watershed health, wildlife conservation, environmental contaminants, remediation, and community-based research to protect both ecosystems and the people who depend on them.

Souta collaborates with Tribal Nations, conservation organizations, universities, and wildlife professionals on projects ranging from aquatic habitat protection and invasive species prevention to wildlife disease monitoring and environmental restoration. She also served on a national working group addressing Chronic Wasting Disease and works alongside international experts to manage contaminated landscapes and water sources.

Known for making complex scientific topics approachable and engaging, Souta combines practical conservation science with stories from the field to inspire stewardship, curiosity, and collaboration. Her presentations encourage audiences to see birds, water, and healthy landscapes as deeply connected and to recognize the important role every community member can play in protecting them for future generations.
