Also known as San Diego County Sunflower and Tornleaf Goldeneye, this hairy, evergreen, perennial shrub grows 3 to 4 feet in height. The leaves of this plant produce a shiny resin, and the flower heads are bright yellow. It grows in full to partial sun, and can withstand a variety of wet to dry soils, from sand to clay.
