Get Involved with the Seabird Institute

We have a range of opportunities for those who want to help save the seabirds.

Are you an early career scientist, environmental educator, communicator, or interested in supporting our work? There are a variety of ways to help us save the seabirds! Each season, we hire staff to safeguard nesting colonies, engage and inspire our diverse community of advocates, and support programming across the Seabird Institute's centers and sanctuaries.

Science and Research Opportunities

Live and work on a remote seabird island! Each season, we hire:

Most positions run from May-August. Island Supervisors and Research Assistants can apply through the careers portals. Volunteer applications are closed for the 2026 season.

Education & Engagement Opportunities

Environmental educators and communicators help inspire a love of seabirds in audiences from near and far. 

Most positions run from May through August.

Hog Island Audubon Camp

Hog Island hosts residential camp sessions throughout the summer. Each season, we hire:

  • Naturalist
  • Kitchen Staff
  • Camp Assistants

Most positions run from May through September.

Volunteer opportunities are available through the Friends of Hog Island.
