Mary Beth Henson leads Audubon's financial team including financial operations, decision support, and the redesign of our business processes across the country. She also works closely with finance teams throughout the network. Since joining Audubon, Henson has focused on enhancing the skills and alignment of National Audubon Society staff. This has included recruiting a Controller and Assistant Controller in accounting, and creating a new director-level position to lead Audubon's accounting and compliance on grants. Finance continues to introduce new tools to streamline payments and administration, like our electronic travel and expense reimbursement system, online invoicing, and center procurement cards.
Henson understands the importance of meticulous financial management to project completion and organizational efficiency. She is dedicated to coordinating finance operations across the network to ensure Audubon's conservation priorities are achieved. Henson continues to examine Audubon's processes and pursues tools to make financial administration simpler and more cost-effective. Staff time can then be focused on more sophisticated analysis in support of our mission.
Before coming to Audubon in 2013, Henson served as Vice President, Finance for City Harvest, Inc. In that role, she overhauled the organization's financial systems and performed detailed economic modeling of City Harvest's five-year Strategic Plan. Henson also serves as a volunteer Director for Immigration Equality.
