Tania Romero

Program Coordinator at Audubon Center at Debs Park

As the Fund II Apprentice focusing on community engagement at Audubon’s Center in Debs Park, Tania Romero hopes to provide educational experiences and alternative programming that caters to individuals that have been excluded from the conservation field. After graduating from the University of California, San Diego where she received a bachelor’s degree in Biology and double minored in Environmental Studies and Ethnic Studies, Romero decided to move back to her home city of Los Angeles. Growing up, Romero thought her city did not have any nature or wildlife. That did not deter her early career work, which consisted of point count surveys, bird banding, and habitat restoration.
