Audubon Scarlet Tanager Advocacy Day in Harrisburg
9:00am - 4:00pm UTC
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Location Details
501 N 3rd St, Harrisburg, 17120
Join us in Harrisburg to voice your support for designating the Scarlet Tanager as the state migratory bird. Thanks to Rep. Mandy Steele, House Bill 2316 has been introduced in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives that will officially designate this brilliant bird as the State Migratory Bird.
Audubon Mid-Atlantic will schedule meetings with representatives throughout the day, and we will provide you with talking points to support you as you advocate for the Scarlet Tanager's place in Pennsylvania history. You can sign up for one or both shifts during the day to meet with your representatives.
Since June 1 is also Native Species Day, there will be a press event with remarks from the state's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Department of Agriculture, and other conservation leaders in the East Wing Rotunda at 10:00AM.
If you have questions about this campaign, please contact Tess Wilson at tess.wilson@audubon.org.
Thank you for joining us in celebrating the Scarlet Tanager in Pennsylvania!
