This event is part of the Red Cliffs Audubon Spring Blitz series. More information can be found at https://www.redcliffsaudubon.org/bird-walks-n-field-trips/2026/4/24/2026-spring-blitz. "Even before Paul Newman rode his bike to that catchy tune in ""Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid,"" Grafton has been one of the top birding spots in Greater Zion. Known locally for its historical (and abandoned) school, brick home, and log cabins, Grafton is prime riparian habitat surrounded by agricultural fields and orchards. The red cliffs of Zion National Park and surrounding areas serve as the backdrop for this amazing birding site. Higlight species include the Vermillion Flycatcher and Common Black Hawk. The road in holds desert sparrows while the orchards host tanagers, orioles, and warblers. Participants should plan on walking up to 1.5 miles on dirt roads. Easy walking. Restroom at the meet-up location. Field Trip Leaders: Ken Hinton and Don Hinton Meet up location is "Maverick in LaVerkin 460 N State St, La Verkin, UT 84745"
