"Lytle Ranch Preserve sits along Beaver Dam Wash at the base of the Beaver Dam Mountains in the far southwestern corner of Utah. This rare desert riparian corridor—lined with mature cottonwoods, willows, mesquite, and open desert scrub—creates one of the most productive owling sites in Greater Zion. The Western Screech-Owl and Long-eared Owl are common but we may also find Barn Owls and Great Horned Owls. We will also listen and look for Common Poorwills, mainly along the gravel road to the ranch. If lucky, Burrowing Owls may also be seen along the road. Lytle Ranch Reserve is of the most productive owl-watching locations in the region.
