Audubon is thrilled to partner with Gather Food Hall to celebrate the longest day of the year, welcome the first day of summer, and gear up for Pollinator Week.
For birds, the Summer Solstice falls at the height of breeding season, when long daylight hours provide maximum foraging time to feed rapidly growing nestlings.
It’s also a seasonal turning point: after the solstice, days begin to shorten, cueing birds to shift from nesting to post breeding activities and, eventually, migration.
