Also known as Pitcher Sage, this perennial herb has broad, aromatic leaves, and flower spikes that rise 2 to 3 feet. Along the upright stem grow large, tubular, magenta flowers, which attract hummingbirds as the name suggests. It grows in partial shade and moist soils, and is deer resistant.
