A clumped, grass-like perennial, Pennsylvania Sedge grows 6 to 12 inches tall. Clusters of brown seed capsules grow out near the top of the stem, and while the foliage is pale green in the spring and summer, it turns tan in the fall. This plant grows in full to sun to shade, and in dry to moist soils.
