Nat Miller
Nat Miller leads Audubon’s efforts to protect, manage, and restore North America's working lands. By focusing on direct habitat implementation, partnership building, and providing policy and science support, Audubon’s Wings Over Working Lands initiative improves habitat conditions across agricultural, forestry, and other productive lands to drive outcomes outlined in Audubon’s ambitious strategic plan, Flight Plan.
Miller joined Audubon in 2014 and previously served as Audubon’s Senior Director of Conservation for the Great Lakes and Upper Mississippi River. During his tenure, he has designed ambitious conservation strategies that have protected and restored Great Lakes waters and thousands of acres of coastal habitats, supporting hundreds of migratory land and marsh bird species. Miller has also shaped priorities for the Upper Mississippi River, including expanding the Audubon Conservation Ranching program into the Midwest. He serves on Boards of the Upper Mississippi /Great Lakes Joint Venture and Macaw Recovery Network.
Before joining Audubon, Miller was Assistant Director for the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance, working across six Caribbean islands to manage parks and establish protected area policies. Earlier, as Protected Areas Manager at Ya’axché Conservation Trust in Southern Belize, he led a ranger team managing over 100,000 acres of rainforest and savanna.
