Did you know that the same places that provide habitat for birds can help stabilize our climate, reduce flooding and protect communities?
Celebrate Chicago Climate Week by joining Audubon Great Lakes for a free lunchtime conversation exploring the climate solutions found right under our feet—from wetlands that store carbon and absorb stormwater, to grasslands and forests that support biodiversity while building resilience to extreme weather.
You’ll hear from an engaging panel of local conservation and policy leaders who are advancing on-the-ground restoration in Chicago and across the Great Lakes region, shaping state and federal policy, and creating opportunities to invest in nature-based solutions that benefit both birds and people.
Speakers include:
-
Karen Weigert, Director, Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise and Responsibility, Loyola University Chicago
-
Jen Walling, CEO, Illinois Environmental Council
-
Daniel Suarez, Conservation Director, Audubon Great Lakes
-
Moderator: Michelle Parker, Executive Director, Audubon Great Lakes; Chair, IL Nature Preserves Commission
Lunch will be provided. Space is limited. RSVP today to save your spot.
