Join Audubon Conservation Ranching program, Freestone Ranch, and Point Blue Conservation Science for a Spring Field Day focused on applying a bird-centered lens to restoration planning and rangeland stewardship. Designed for restoration planners, ranchers, and conservation professionals, this event will provide practical strategies for enhancing habitat for grassland birds on working lands.
At Freestone Ranch, participants will explore the habitat features birds rely on across riparian areas, shrublands, grasslands, and oak woodlands. We’ll examine how bird monitoring and habitat assessment tools, used by Point Blue Conservation Science, can guide restoration design, inform management priorities, and support adaptive decision-making.
The day will include a guided ranch tour showcasing management approaches in action, along with discussion of the planning, implementation, and ecological outcomes behind each practice.
Lunch will be provided.
