**Join us for this urban wetlands bird walk!**
Wide, flat trails parallel the groundwater recharge ponds for easy viewing and comfortable walking. These shallow ponds are frequented by a large number of waterfowl in the fall, winter and spring seasons. Hawks, hummingbirds, roadrunners, flycatchers, Abert’s Towhee and Curved-Billed Thrashers are common year-round.
The street address for the parking lot is 5250 S. Higley Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85298. It is 1/2 mile north of the intersection of Higley Rd and Ocotillo Rd. When coming from the north on Higley Rd. you are not able to make a left hand turn into the parking lot. Drive all the way to Ocotillo Rd., make a U-turn. Continue north on Higley Rd about 1/2 mile. Make a right-hand turn int the parking lot. You will find the group gathering there. There is a port-a-potty in the parking area if needed.
