**Sycamore Creek upper Beeline Highway** is Maricopa County’s most accessible high elevation riparian area. Sycamores and willows line a creek with nearby Mazatzal mountains' foothills of oak, juniper, and pine. The birding is partly done by car along a paved road, and partly by foot, also on mostly a flat paved road. We will make many stops by car–then walking (about 3 miles round trip.) Pack a snack or lunch for a short break along the route. Anne Leight is an expert guide in this part of Arizona. She will help us look for Orioles, including Scott’s Oriole; Black-chinned Sparrow, Gray Vireo, Common Black Hawk and Zone-tailed Hawk, along with flycatchers, kingbirds and bushtits. We will meet in the parking lot of Denny’s in Fountain Hills where we can arrange carpools as needed to drive to the location. We will return at approximately 1:00pm. **Leader: Anne Leight** ***READ the liability waiver** for this event [here](https://tinyurl.com/5p86mfvd) before registering. Registration is required.
