With efforts to support bird habitat, Ventura Audubon Society is teaming up with the Organic Garden Club of Ventura County (OGCVC) on an exciting project. The OGCVC has recently acquired property in Oxnard that will be transformed into a native, regenerative garden—a place for pollinators, birds, and people alike. There is much to accomplish on the land, and the OGCVC needs all hands on deck.
No experience is required—the only prerequisite is a desire to learn! If you've been itching to break into the gardening scene but have no idea where to start, this is the perfect starting point. The land will not only serve as habitat and a food source, but a classroom for all who participate.
The goal is to bring this space back to life, showcase the positive impacts of land restoration, and bring community members together through a shared love of green spaces.
If you have your own tools, please feel free to bring them along. We are especially in need of a wheelbarrow—if you have one you’re willing to donate or bring for use during the project, it would be greatly appreciated!
